Mice are a major problem because they may bite, spread disease, and carry fleas. Among all household pests, mice are among the most despised, and since they reproduce so quickly and how high can mice jump, they can be challenging to get rid of.

Do I Have a Mouse Problem?

How do you determine whether you have a mouse issue? Here are seven mice infestation warning indicators that prompt you to contact a pro.

  • Scratching:

You might hear them before you see them. Mice are nocturnal, so they are active while you are trying to sleep. You might have a mouse problem if you hear noises coming from the walls or ceiling of your home, most of them scratching.

  • Signs of Nibbling:

Have you ever taken a food box from the cupboard to find the corner bitten off? This may indicate an infestation of mice. Any food that mice have gotten into should be thrown away since they spread sickness. Regularly check your cabinet for new nibble marks showing an invasion is still happening.

  • Mouse Debris:

Any mammal not trained to waste itself outside or in a designated spot should not be permitted to stay. Therefore, if you see fresh droppings in your home, this indicates an undesirable houseguest. Droppings are repulsive and pose a health risk to you, your pets, and any young children who might stay at your house or come to visit.

  • Bad Odor:

Rodents can emit an offensive odor like stale urine due to their rapid reproduction, ability to build pee pillars, and propensity to discharge up to 80 droppings daily.

Additional signs

  1. Rodent tracks may be visible in your home’s dusty areas if you have an infestation. Additionally, when they shuffle along, the grease from their furry coats can leave dark stains on the walls they have rubbed up against.
  2. Mice construct nests from straw, fabric, paper, and other materials to house their young. Such nests may be concealed beneath appliances or in cabinets. If you see one, it means the infestation in your home is worsening since the mice have started to reproduce.
  3. The most reliable indicator of an infestation is a dead mouse, which may be seen with your own eyes. Whether you find a dead mouse in the hallway by accident or your loyal cat brings it to you as a gift, you should call a reputable pest control agency right away.
